A massive plastic processing plant in Moss Vale, one of the largest proposed in Australia, poses a threat to homes, schools, and Sydney's drinking water catchment.
Although the NSW Independent Planning Commission rejected the project, RePoly (formerly Plasrefine) is appealing in the Land & Environment Court.
Our Southern Highlands community has faced this challenge before and prevailed. Now, Southern Highlands Matters, with chair Sam Wood as the respondent, is stepping in to protect public health, local air quality, and our environment.

What's happening?
RePoly, previously PlasmaRefine, is appealing rejection of its giant plastic factory proposed for Mossvale right next to sensitive research facilities, but also homes, schools and Sydney's water catchment.
Didn't the community already win?
Yes we defeated this once but RePoly is exercising its right of appeal in the Land and Environment Court. This means we have to start the fight all over again. But in a new court with new rules and new costs.
Why do we need funds?
Even at community rates, lawyers, barristers, and expert witnesses for a two-week hearing are costly - probably approaching half a million dollars. We are seeking to raise $180,000 from the community - so far, the average donation is $200. Any amount will make a difference.
How Urgently Do We Need Funds?
Re-Poly can clearly outspend us. With legal lead times, we need as much as we can raise right now to prepare the best legal case.
